- Super excited to see another dual screen handheld. I get why Nintendo left its dual screen handehelds behind but I still wish they didn't. There's so much cool design that came out of developers having access to two screens.
- Panda3D is a game engine originally created back in 1994 for several rides at Disney. It would later be used for their mmos and then open sourced where it's stil maintained to this day. You can use C++ or Python (it had smalltalk bindings at one point) and it's a lot of fun to use.
- The SDK is pretty nice to use and there's a very helpful community surrounding it.
- The sdk is a lot of fun to use and they also have a engine called pulp which is made for simple games.
- Metropolis 1998 looks awesome! I'll have to put it on my wish list.
Talking about late 90s early 2000s I'm hoping at some point prerendered backgrounds come back just like prerendered sprites. Some fixed function graphics programming would be fun too.
Edit: which seems a little wild considering how cheap and easily the DS and 3DS can already play backups
