My first two posts covered "Deluxe Paint on the Amiga" and "Electric Pencil on the TRS-80." For my new post, I've turned my sights onto Superbase for the Commodore 64. It's one of those programs I've always heard spoken of reverently, but never put hands on.
Studying it led into a side-investigation about the "office of the future," a topic which featured prominently in publications around that time. As a bonus, I confront a surprise villain from the past! <suspenceful_musical_sting.mp3> I then thwart said villain using the power of C64 BASIC. <success_trumpet.mp3>
For each post, I spend weeks genuinely learning the software I discuss and try to offer an honest, lighthearted assessment: how was it perceived at the time, what is it like to actually use, and does it still have utility today?
I hope you enjoy this fresh look at a C64 classic!

- classichasclass 40 days agoDunno if this would work in the program, but you could try using the VICE monitor to disable key repeat (set location 650 to 64). Made using warp mode a lot more liveable when I was playing with Roadsearch Plus.reply
