    I think this has about as much chance of happening as getting people to stop calling it sherbert ice cream.

      The people calling it DB9 have been doing it for 40 years, so we won't change now. The new generations have almost no contact with that port so will call it like the elders call it.

      I’ve never once called that connector “sherbert ice cream”. :)

        LOL. Just referencing that there is the right way "Sherbet"and the way that most people will continue to say it "Sherbert". Even in the face of incontrovertible proof to the contrary.
