There was a lot of traffic on the orange site yesterday about the UK Online Safety Act. Lobste.rs is likely going to likely block UK users beacause of requirements. Concerned. This is my favourite site and there are number of UK users and posts to this place l. Would be a shame to have that go way.

I have no plan to shut down this site because of the UK Online Safety Act. If necessary I'll take legal advice on how to comply but this site has some important attributes that make it unsuitable for the sort of scum who harm children:
1. We don't allow images to be posted.
2. There are no private chats.
3. It is moderated.

  I think the onerous requirements of the act are that you have to have assessement, policy, contact to remove content etc. no matter how rare or implausible.
  TBH - I have always worried that someone would post a link to illegal^h^h^h^h^h^h questionable MAME or NES roms. While the good citizens of our group will abide, not listing it in a policy link could get us hung.

This is one of my favorite sites too and I often check in more than once a day. I hope the small number of visitors here allows TSB to avoid this UK law even applying at all to it.

Not lawyer advise but I found this site to describe what needs to be done for small sites. Again it depends if it’s applicable. However, if it is - time is of the essence.
