Apparently this lawsuit has been settled and the YUZU emulator is no more. Apparently there was truth in the rumour it was being driven by piracy instead of education or preservation.
IANAL, curious to see how this plays. My lay reading of the article seems to suggest that people were using the emulator and stolen roms on the emulator leading to loss by Nintendo.
It will be interesting to see what the result is. It reminds me of Bleem and Virtual Game Station. Connectix beat Sony, and I think Bleem would have too if they had more money.
