    This was more my fathers era than mine. Dedicated key punches were gone mid 70s. Punch cards were self serve at a keypunch until they went away for good by about 1980. By '88 terminals were dismanted pretty much every I had access to big iron in favor of a PC with 3270 or vt100 emulation. Shifting the cost of connectivity was a huge, huge savings to orgs.

    While eveyrone had a flow chart in their drawer few were used. Code was too complex even for a typical subroutine that fit on pajama paper...

      Hopefully, there will be others who remember this era of shirts and ties to work, pocket protectors, flowchart stencils and air conditioning....
