In his most recent longform piece it Was fascinating to read the lengths Jordan Mechner (Prince of Persia) and his colleagues went to recreate the detail of the Orient Express. Being told officially that all the blueprints and archives were destroyed but then discovering a group of railroad workers who'd kept it all. A later tip-off that one of the sleeper cars had survived and had been left in a place accessible to anyone who cared to go look.
- spbnick 402 days agoYes, that story was amazing, and so satisfying. But so are a lot of the stories Jimmy has recorded about the history of games. I've been reading his blog on and off for several years now, and still haven't read everything. Re-reading his posts is fun too. He always goes above and beyond, digging up sources, and writing about history and people, not just the games.
